2020 and Beyond.

As you can probably tell, I haven’t been posting on my website recently. This year has been a very busy one already and it’s only February. One of the things I did was fly to San Francisco for a wedding. It was tons of fun (despite getting sick from the groom). However, I did manage to get my comics in a few comic book stores while I was in the bay area. Amazing stores like Fantastic Comics, Mission: Comics & Art, and Cape and Cowl Comics are all carrying copies of Sidekick For Hire #1!

Now this isn’t me making excuses as to why I haven’t been posting on here too often. In fact, I’ve come back to share a few things I’ve been working on these past two months.

One of the big things I already started this year was begin production on issue two of Sidekick For Hire! The script has been written for quite some time, but I have finally teamed back up with Rick to start the art. I’m going to take a moment to gush over his artwork, too. The first few pages feel like he is on an entirely new level. The first issue was some of the best art I’ve seen in any comic and somehow Rick managed to top that with professional execution. In fact, I will share some of the concept art for a new costume and character along with this post, as a thank you!

So, we have been hard at work with getting things ready with Part 2 of the story. Which leads me to the next part of what I have been working on. Now I self-funded the whole first issue because this was a story that was important to me and I desperately wanted to share it with everyone. Unfortunately, I can’t self-fund it by myself again. That is why I have decided to Kickstart the second issue!

The other big things I’ve been getting ready to table at a few comic conventions this year! Starting with Savannah Comic Con  on May 9th-10th and Atlanta Comic Con on July 31st- August 2nd! This will be the first year I table at a comic convention, so I’m pretty nervous and excited all at the same time. I will have copies of the first issue and some other goodies to sell. There will also be some art for the 2nd issue done by Rick, that I will be sharing at the conventions. If you are around those two weekends, make sure to stop by, say hello, and check out what I’ll be sharing.

With the Kickstarter, conventions, and Sidekick For Hire taking up most of my time, I promise I will be more regular with posting on my website. The next few installments will be more about the journey of finding and working with the talented colorist Veronica, the incredibly helpful Toben, and how I learned to self-publish all the way to the printing of the comic.

Thank you for reading and can’t wait to share more of Sidekick For #2 soon!
